Every person belongs to a certain body type (Prakruthi), namely, Vata, Pitta & Kapha. Some persons are dominant with one dosha and some with a combination of two doshas to form a prakruthi. Body type can get disturbed or affected depending on the weather changes and also the food habits. Upon identifying the body prakruthi, appropriate advice will be given on diet and the right food habits.
The foods or nutrients we eat play a vital role in our health and well-being. It provides our body with the raw materials it needs for good growth, development and function. Nutrients can be categorized into two basic groups: macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients.
Micro-nutrients are needed only in small amounts, but are very essential for the proper functioning of every system in the body that are vital for good health. There are two classes of micro-nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Each vitamin and mineral has a specific role in bodily function. Our bodies cannot produce all of these essential micro-nutrients, and they are supplied only through the diet. As different foods contain different levels of vitamins and minerals, it’s important that one eats a wide variety of foods from the different food groups and a variety within each food group, to ensure one gets adequate supply of all the micro-nutrients the body needs.
The right balance of Micro and Macro-nutrients is very essential to facilitate the body to respond better to any Alternative Medical Therapies.
